New Look, Healthy Community Focus this Fall

Take note as you peruse your new fall Community Education catalog. We've changed the layout of the catalog, and it now matches the Youth and Early Childhood publications. 
Fall classes, activities and special events focus on healthy communities. Check out this small sampling of what we have in store for you this fall at One91 Community Education. 

NEW Fitness Classes
Personal fitness classes include new offerings with Ring the Bell Fitness Community and Fitness for Life. 
Ring the Bell Fitness understands that every person is unique and every goal is personal. This is customized group fitness offering weights, cardio, HIIT and core workouts, that are highly diverse and extremely engaging. Ring the Bell is offered early in the morning, so you can start your day with self-care. Classes run monthly Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 5-6 am at the Burnsville High School Activities Center. Come ready to work out and go home to get ready for your work day.
Fitness for Life will help you build a fitness foundation that will not only keep you independent and injury-free, but will also empower you for life. Improve strength and stability through functional fitness in a welcoming, safe and energetic atmosphere. Wednesday 4:40-5:30 pm, or Saturday 9:15-10:05 am at Diamondhead. Free Pop Up is September 15, 9:15-10:05 am.

Community favorite POUND is adding Cardio Drumming to the weekly routine.  While POUND uses the floor and drum sticks to enhance the workout, we've added several exercise balls for a cardio drumming option. Both options work your entire body, relieve stress and lift your mood, while strengthening muscle groups, improving coordination and focus. New to POUND + Cardio Drumming? Pop In on September 11. 

NEW Creative Outlets
Intro to Woodcarving with the Burnsville Woodcarvers

You may not be aware of the level of talent in the Burnsville Woodcarving group. We are super excited that these skilled artists are willing to share their talents with us. These skilled woodcarvers will work in small groups to teach safe handling and several knife techniques used in figure carving.Thursdays, October 4, November 1, December 6, 6-9 pm at Diamondhead. Pre-registration required.

Pet Portrait Painting with Merry Time Arts
We all know how pets become a member of the family- how fun will it be to paint a portrait of your furry loved one.
Vanessa Merry will hand draw your pet's picture from a photo you provide onto a 16 x 20 " canvas. It will be ready for you to complete with step by step assistance in class. Space is limited and this is sure to be popular- Register Early!

Individualized Piano, Voice and NEW! GUITAR- for students of all ages. Guitar lessons are for intermediate to advanced players. Lessons are centered around the strengths and interests of the individual. 

Healthy Communities
Join us as we celebrate our Updated Senior Center at an Open House, September 12, 2-4 pm. 

Travel Training: Learning to Use Public Transportation, in cooperation with the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, Sep 19 and 26.

Know Your Neighbor Healthy Communities Event- We are partnering with the YMCA to host a Community Celebration, built around a meal, intentional social interaction and conversations about our community. October 4, RSVP here please.

Potters All Call for Bowls for BrainPower- October 13. 9 am- 2 pm at Burnsville High School. Stop by as our schedule permits. Lunch and treats provided. Located in the art wing at BHS room H108. Enter through door 11. All bowls are donated to the Bowls for BrainPower event on April 11.
