July 30, 2020 Phone Message
(July 30, 2020) #15
Good morning, it’s Michele Starkey, the Coordinator of the Burnsville Senior Center.
If you are receiving this message, it is because you have a telephone number associated with the Burnsville Senior Center and this is my weekly call.
Well, you just might think this is something we have done before because we have been successful!
With a little tweak here and a little tweak there, we have foot care appointments and defensive
driving classes off to a great start.

It’s still taking a little getting used to with some of the new practices but it has gone really well. People have been gracious, understanding, and very patient.
Thanks to all of you who have helped us work out the bugs!

Happy Feet will be here to do foot care 4 days in August. Please call 763-560-5136 to make a foot
care appointment.
There will be an 8 hour Defensive Driving class and several 4 hour refresher classes in August.
Call 952-707-4120 or go online to register.
And in August we will begin some of our fitness classes like Sunrise Stretch, Fitness Fun, Strength & Balance, Chair Tai Chi & painting classes.
NO other activities are planned at this time.
ALL classes must be pre-registered for. No walk-ins will be allowed.
You can only register for each class, one session at a time up to 2 weeks before the class starts.
For every activity related to the Senior Center, you MUST enter thru Door #12 and leave thru Door #12.
You should show up at the door with a mask.
You must stop at the Reception Desk to complete the Visitor Screening form noting when you came to join us and what time you will be leaving.
If you want a beverage or snack you can bring your own, we will however have pop and water for sale.
The One91 Community Pantry is a no cost food alternative. Pull up in your car, tell us the number
in your family & receive food.
The Community Pantry will be available here at Diamondhead August 4 from 3-4:30 pm and we have a produce day, August 13 from 3–4:30pm.
They will be at Sioux Trail Elementary August 6 from 2-3:30 pm and Glendale Methodist Church by Hidden Valley School, August 11 from 2 – 3:30 pm. And, if you are having trouble getting groceries or other items delivered, don’t hesitate to call us at the BSC so that we can assist you.
So, the BSC is open in a limited fashion at this time. Remember, you can call us at 952-707-4120 -
a receptionist is available M – F from 9am – noon to assist you or share your email to receive the Enewsletters
which will continue as long as information is changing.
And remember to wear your mask - we want you to be safe, stay well and stay connected.
Goodbye
