|July 16, 2020 Phone Update Message|
Good morning, it’s Michele Starkey, the Coordinator of the Burnsville Senior Center. If you are
getting this message, it is because you have a telephone number associated with the Burnsville
Senior Center and this is my weekly check in call.
Today is the day. We've Only Just Begun but we’ve begun!
Today we are booked with foot care appointments and our first 4-hour Defensive Driving Refresher class. We have spent the week mapping out spaces, figuring out the technologies needed & preparing signage (there is SO much new stuff for you to read!). I have removed all evidence that we ever served coffee and cookies but
the cooler is full of water and pop.
Phase I includes Foot Care appointments on July 17 & 24. If you need an appointment call 763-560-5136.
Phase II includes Defensive Driving Classes.
We have 4-hour Refreshers scheduled for July 21 & 22 from 1 – 5 pm and July 27 from 530 – 930. Call 952-707- 4120 or go online to register.
Phase III will include Sunrise Stretch, Fitness Fun, Strength & Balance (without an instructor in August because Tom is on vacation but register and this class at no cost will at least gather), Chair Tai Chi & painting classes beginning in AUGUST. NO other activities are planned at this time.
ALL classes must be pre-registered for. No walk-ins will be allowed.
You can only register for each class, one session at a time up to 2 weeks before the class starts.
For every activity related to the Senior Center you are strongly encouraged to wear a mask.
Enter thru Door #12 and leave thru Door #12.
Stop at the Reception Desk, clean your hands and complete the Visitor Screening form noting when you came to join us and what time you will be leaving.
If you want a beverage or snack you can bring you own, we will however have pop and water for sale.
The One91 Community Pantry is a no cost food alternative. Pull up in your car, tell us the number
in your family & receive food. The Pantry will be available July 21 at Edward Neill School from
2 – 3:30 pm and back here at Diamondhead Ed Center July 21 from 3 – 4:30 pm.
If you are having trouble getting groceries or other items delivered, don’t hesitate to call us at the BSC so that we can assist you.
So, the BSC is opening in a limited fashion at this time.
Remember, you can call us at 952-707-4120 - a receptionist is available M – F from 9am – noon to assist you or share your email to receive the Enewsletters which will continue as long as information is changing.
Hoping if you wanted to get out a little you did so. Just be careful…but enjoy it.
Keep in mind we want you to stay safe, stay well and stay connected. Goodbye
