Michele's Moments

June is finally here. The sunshine, green trees and birds singing are a welcomed sight. Amidst all the unrest we are facing, I think it is important to take a moment and reflect.

The good news: we have a Shredding Event next Tuesday, June 9. Bring us your 'stuff' and we will shred it to pieces from 10am to noon in the lower level parking lot at DEC.  More specifics are below. The not so good news is that we are still working on the many things needing consideration before we open the doors. Thanks in advance for your patience, believe me we all want the same thing.

Food needs continue.
One91's Community Pantry remains available  Pull up in your car and receive the items available on that day.
Glendale Methodist Church (across from Hidden Valley School) June 9 from 2 - 3:30.
Edward Neill – June 16 from 2 – 3:30
Diamondhead Education Center – June 16 from 3 – 4:30

An important update - Loaves and Fishes are suspending their meal distribution at the Burnsville YMCA until further notice.  If you are in need of assistance in these areas, please call us at the Burnsville Senior Center at 952-707-4120.

Another note regarding summer plans. I am sorry to annouce that we have made the decision to cancel the Wednesday in the Park Summer concerts. With so many unknowns while considering the health and safety of our community, this was the call. Let's all look forward to the Summer 2021!

Enjoy some of this great sunshine!

Please remember: Stay safe, stay well and stay connected.
