Michele's Moments

It's been another very busy week. We have partnered with Hosanna Church and have food boxes going out to 45 seniors this Saturday morning. When someone calls with a need, we have volunteers & the  Burnsville Police Department helping to address those needs. We should all be very proud of this community.
This is when you see the true meaning of "community".  The One91 Community Pantry is available here at  Diamondhead Education Center, the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month from 3:30 - 5 pm. This is an opportunity to access food at no cost. Just pull into the lower level parking lot, outside Door #11 and the food will be brought right out to your car.
Upcoming dates: May 5 and 19.

We are ramping up some online / virtual learning opportunities and we are the ones doing all the learning. There are different options and options within those options, different ways to twist and turn - OMG!  The phone messaging I do once a week is reaching MANY people who do not use electronic devices...the feedback has been outstanding. The email list also keeps growing...overall, people are engaging. It is said that  "Every day may not be good, but there is something good about everyday"  never has that been truer.

The Governor has just extended the Stay At Home order until May 18. That means we are grounded for a while longer. There is a quote by Malcolm X  "When I is Replaced with We, Illness becomes Wellness",   I kinda like that one.

Happy May Day, the sunshine and budding trees are inspiring me.

Enjoy your weekend and remember to: Stay home, stay safe, stay well and stay connected.
